Program Overview: YLHC is a program of Leadership Harrison County designed for high school juniors attending school in Harrison County Indiana. YLHC is an innovative youth program introducing students to servant leadership skills and resources, community awareness, and volunteer opportunities within the community. Classes will focus on servant leadership, financial stewardship, communication, and philanthropy. YLHC hopes to connect youth to the community while developing future leaders for our schools and Harrison County.

Mission Statement: “Developing young servant leaders to make a positive and lasting impact in Harrison County.”

Time Commitment: Attendance is required at Orientation, 5 Program Days, and Graduation.

  • Orientation: September 20th, 2018 - Lanesville High School cafeteria, 6:30-7:30pm
  • Day 1: Servant Leadership / character building / community awareness
    September 27, 2018 - South Harrison Community Center, Elizabeth, 8am - 3pm
  • Day 2: Historical tour / county history / non-profits
    November 7, 2018 - Harrison County Discovery Center, Corydon, 8am - 3pm
  • Day 3: Public Speaking / finances / showcase work
    January 17, 2019 - Frenchtown Community Center, 8am - 3pm
  • Day 4: Communication styles / interpersonal communications
    February 5, 2019 - Harrison County Government Center, Corydon, 8am - 3pm
  • Day 5: Community Involvement / personal testimony
    March 12, 2019 - Palmyra Community Center, 8am - 3pm
  • Graduation: April 11 - Lanesville Heritage Building, 6:30 pm

*If any schools have a cancellation on these dates, class will be rescheduled at a later date.

- Junior year student attending school in Harrison County
- Commit to required attendance of all program days/events. Be on time and stay until the end of the day.
- Commit to having transportation to and from the event on program days.
- Meet student criteria: Exhibits the desire to be a leader, good character, ethical, and dependable.

Program Cost: $50 (due after notice of acceptance)

The current class is filled and the application is closed. We will open the application for in spring 2019.
